The Golden Triangle Challenge 2006

Five challenging cycling stages, riding 400 kms
from Chiang Mai to the Golden Triangle

General Conditions

1. For the Charity Cycle Challenge, we require a non-refundable registration fee of 3,000 Baht. Which can be paid online by credit card.
2. In addition, you must undertake to raise the minimum amount of sponsorship as detailed on the registration page. 11,500 Baht sponsorship will go to the Piers Simon Appeal. All must be paid within 1 week of the end of the challenge.
3. If you are unable to meet these requirements, you may forfeit your place on the event.
4. Should you not take up your place all sponsor forms and monies should be forwarded to the Piers Simon Appeal.
5. All funds raised in Thailand can be made payable to the Piers Simon Appeal in Thai Baht. Funds raised outside of Thailand must be converted to British Sterling Pounds and paid into our UK Bank Account.
6. You must be at least 16 years old on the date of departure to register.
7. Your passport must have at least six months to run from date of exit from the country you are visiting.
8. If you are refused passage and/or entry/exit to or from the country you are visiting any additional costs incurred are your own responsibility.
9. You must bring and wear a cycling helmet at all times when cycling.
10. It is vital that you have appropriate travel insurance in order to take part in this event. This is a mandatory condition of your participation in the event and you need to ensure you arrange it by no later than 2 weeks before your challenge.
11. All flights, flight timings, itinerary and arrangements are subject to chance without notice. All transfers to and from International Airports after Chiang Mai are at your own expense. 12. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, you must not use your Challenge for any other commercial gain or use the challenge to fundraise for any registered charity other than the Piers Simon Appeal. As part of your support, we will allow you access to the Piers Simon Appeal name and logo. You must agree to use the Piers Simon Appeal name, script and logo on the following terms and conditions:
    • You will use the name, script and logo only for fundraising for the Piers Simon Appeal and in connection with your participation in the challenge for which you are registering and for no other purpose;
    • You acknowledge that the Piers Simon Appeal has a reputation that is critical to its work. Accordingly, you agree that you will not do anything in connection with your use of the Piers Simon Appeal name, script and logo that might damange the reputation of our charity.
    • You will not distort or mis-shape the Piers Simon Appeal script or logo in any way.
    • You acknowledge that this permission is personal to you and is not assignable or transferable to any other person.
13. The interests and good reputation of the Piers Simon Appeal are paramount and at its sole discretion, may withdraw a participant if it believes that it is in the best interests of the charity to do so.
14. The information contained in this registration form is correct at the time of going to press. Where relevant you should check the current situation prior to departure.
15. The Piers Simon Appeal is a registered charity - no: 1109503. 100% of the money raised for the Piers Simon Appeal is used to support and regenerate communities affected by disasters worldwide.
