The Golden Triangle Challenge 2006

Five challenging cycling stages, riding 400 kms
from Chiang Mai to the Golden Triangle

Dates: Sunday 15th October - Saturday 21st October 2006

Visa and Formalities

It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that his or her travel documents (flight coupons, visa, etc) are in order to get to Chiang Mai.

Make sure your flights are confirmed and the final destination is Chiang Mai (CNX) so your luggage are also following.

Many nationalities will get visa on arrival for Thailand, for a period of 30 days, but for some nationalities, obtaining visas in advance may be necessary.

Visa on arrival

Passport holders from 40 countries and Hong Kong SAR do not require a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes if their stay in the Kingdom does not exceed 30 days.

The applicant must possess instrument of means of living expenses 10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family accordingly. (This is the law, but in general not applied).

Passports

Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months when you arrive in Thailand. Foreigners have a legal obligation to carry their passports with them at all times when in Thailand. This law is rarely applied and in most cases a photocopy will suffice.
