The Golden Triangle Challenge 2006
Five challenging cycling stages, riding 400 kms
from Chiang Mai to the Golden Triangle
Dates: Sunday 15th October - Saturday 21st October 2006
Weather
The climate is tropical, with an average low temperature of 20°C. There are three overlapping seasons: the rainy season normally lasts from July to October, then the weather turns moderate to cool until February, and gradually warms up to over 40°C in June. Of course it is cooler on rainy days.
What kind of weather to expect in October? In October it is still the end of the raining season. So we can expect some rain. It is fine to ride, and the temperature is not cold. It is like if you cycle in a rainy day in the summer in Europe. No big deal. We will be lucky and have nearly no rain.
