Rules and general conditions of Raid Thai 2010
All participants are aware of and must abide by the rules and general conditions automatically upon registration. The program is subject to modification by the organizer at any time. Race Director has the final decisions on all matters.
REGISTRATION
Registration fee proposed by Thailand Northern-Tails, departure CHIANG-RAI, is $US 650.-
(Services as per scheduled tour program 6 days/ 5 nights - including 5 stages).
Registration deadline is October 30th 2010.
The organizer retains the right to refuse registration prior to this deadline date if the number of registered participants surpasses the available logistic support.
1- Signature: Signature of participants on the registration form is a proof of intended registration and acceptance of rules and general conditions. Registration is confirmed only after receipt of 30% of total amount, and balance must be received minimum 1 month prior departure. Full payment deadline is October 30th, 2010.
PRICE: Price of the participation depart CHIANG-RAI is mentioned. However the price can be modified according to general costing and other factors. Once participants are registered, we guarantee the amount mentioned at time of confirmation of registration.
The organizer reserves the rights to refuse any registration of participants without having to mention any reasons.
Enrollment / Registration with Northern-Trails:
The program/package cost is starting from CHIANG RAI, Thailand.
No flights are included in this package.
Our Travel Agency (Contact Travel Ltd, Chiangmai) can help participants to organize domestic travel and book flights.
What is included:
Registration and participation in the RAID THAI 2010.
6 days of events (1st day is travel day).
5 Race stage, in either category chosen by participant. Each category and each stage receive the full support of ground staff during the race period, according to the daily stage outline.
3 nights in simple hotels during the stages.
2 nights in campsite (very basic comfort, tents).
70% of the meals during the race (breakfasts and dinners).
Snacks at the hotel on the last day, during prizes remittance ceremony.
All transfers during the stages, and airport transfers.
Drinking water is supplied.
Not -Included:
Beverages, personal spending, gratuities, any services prior and after the race. Cancellation insurance and luggage insurance.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation request must be sent by registered mail to the organizer (in Chiang-Mai, Thailand). Cancellation retainer is as follow:
Cancellation received until October 30th 2010: we retain a registration fee of $US 100.- (which could be applicable on future RAID-THAI’s participation).
From October 30th until 24 hours prior the race, we must retain 50% of the participation amount ($us 325.-).
On the 1st day of the program (November 15th), no reimbursement can be made.
CATEGORIES
Participants have the choice of registration in either "race" or "leisure" for the 5 stages mentioned.
1.Runners competition (Total distance of 100km)
2.Runners leisure (Total distance of 100km)
3.MOUNTAIN-BIKING RACE (Total distance 205km+)
4.MOUNTAIN-BIKING Leisure (Total distance 205km+)
5.Leisure cross country hiking, total 75km, not timed.
DISTANCES ABOVE ARE STILL APPROXIMATIVE. ACCURATE DISTANCES WILL BE GIVEN AT THE TOUR DEPARTURE.
INDIVIDUAL COMPETITORS AND TEAMS:
The RAID THAI is a challenge open to individual and teams above 18 years old. Women or men in good physical condition and good health. (Participants under 18 Years old, with parental authorization).
Team challenge is open to teams formed of 3 participants registering together as a team.
TANK TOP, NUMBERS OR PLATE, EQUIPMENT:
The organization will provide two tank tops to joggers and 2 t-shirts to "amateur walking" and to mountain-bikers. Number tags or plates, racing bibs will be provided to all participants. The identification numbers are mandatory to wear/expose and must be not hidden during all stages.
Each competitor must provide their own water bottles or hydration system, and own snacks (energy bars, etc..) One "night stage" is on the program, so participants must have a head lamp or bike front light. Hat and helmets (mountain-bikers) is mandatory at each stage.
ROAD-BOOK
A "road-book" with detailed stage description will be provided. The organizers reserve the rights to any modification of the stage, without notice and without having to provide explanation, due to the local logistic.
BRIEFING
A full briefing mentioning each stage's details (distances, route, altitude, marking, water places, timing and arrivals) will be done prior to each stage. Briefing on the stage/daily agenda will be given at breakfast time by organizers.
SNACKS AND DRINKS
Each stage is made in self-autonomy, which means that participants must provide their own supply of sufficient amount of water, energy drinks or bars, snacks. The organization will provide sufficient meals at the end of each stage, as well as "water stations" at which participants may refill their water bottles, at many places along the route.
COMPUTERIZED CLASSIFICATION
Each stage's timing and results will be actualized every evening, and will be available the morning after. Any disagreement or mistakes should be reported to the organizers within 12 hours.
MEDIA AND PICTURES RIGHTS
Official photographers and video crew are mandated by the organizers during the challenge. At the end of the challenge the organizers will be able to provide participants with their coverage. No other types of audiovisuals or pictures/video can be done without the organization agreement. Official videos and pictures taken during the challenge can be used by participants only for private use. No commercial or other use can be made without prior agreement of organizer and accreditation of photographers. By their registration, participants agree and authorize the RAID THAI to have exclusive rights to use individual or group pictures/video for all promotional material.
MEDICAL TEAM
A full medical team will be present during the whole challenge, including doctors and nurses. The medical team will be present at each stage. The medical team reserves the right to stop or withdraw participants of the challenge, if they decide the participant is not able physically or mentally to pursue the challenge. Competitors are participating in the RAID THAI at their own responsibility. The organizers are not responsible in any cases for injury, accidents, and health problems of participants. The organizers decline all responsibility in case of non-respect of medical crew's decisions.
INSURANCE "GLOBE JOG ET VTT ORGANISATION":
The organizer has subscribed an insurance policy with Assurance de Sports et Loisirs, France. The insurance contract stipulates coverage of basic terms as "third party" insurance for the organizers, and repatriation for participants. Personal effects and luggage insurance is not provided by the organizers. It would be useful for participants to contract their own insurance, independently as per needed, with your own insurance company.
DISQUALIFICATION & DROPPING OUT
In case of disqualification of a competitor or voluntary dropping out in any stage, this will cancel his or her participation as a "racer". However, the participant will be able to take part to following stages, with agreement of medical team after check-up, but without timing and classification.
CLASSIFICATION AND PRIZES
During the closing ceremony, which will be taken on the last day's evening, each competitor (racer) will receive a trophy of the competition. First individuals and teams will receive prizes in bank cheques to be redeemed on a new Raid Thai race, within two years.
According to number of participants per category, the organizer can cancel or add a classification. Prizes are non-cumulative.
