Trip overview

A great day trip out of Chiang Mai. Transfer out of the city and begin a 3 hour’s trekking through some stunning forest. Visit a Karen village and have lunch at a stunning waterfall. Afternoon, ride the Mae Sa valley, with rural paved road and few scenic dirt trails!

Itinerary

08.00 Meeting at your Chiang Mai hotel and transfer to the Mae Sa valley region. (Vehicle transfer about one hour).
09.00 Arrive at our trek starting point, and start a beautiful nature walk, through some pristine forest. Pass by two different hill tribe villages. Guided by your own experienced trekking guide, which will share it’s knowledge of the area and explain the customs of the village life in Northern Thailand.
12.00-12.30 Transfer to a stunning waterfall for a Thai style lunch
14.00 Start our cycling trip, here from the waterfall, going mostly downhill on a paved road. Then ride through small alleys and rural roads of Mae Sa valley. Possibility to ride a few off road trails also.
16.00 End of the ride. We finish our riding in Mae Sa valley, where you can clean up and change clothing.
16.30 Transfer back to Chiang Mai and drop off at your hotel (around 17.30).

General Information

What to bring on this day trip
For the trekking part, you will need a day pack. It should be filled with useful items for the day as suncream, sunglasses, a hat or cap, camera, etc… you can also use this back pack while riding the bicycle in the afternoon. Please bring a good hiking pack that fits well.
Bring a short or a swimsuit if you want to bathe in the waterfall.
Footwear: hiking shoes with hard soles, which can also be used later for the cycling part.
We recommend a padded short and cycling gloves for the cycling section.
Please wear a sport outfit for this day, bring a raincoat during the raining season and a fleece in cool season.
Take a good sun cream, especially during the hot season (can be purchased in Chiang Mai)

What we provide
We provide the mountain-bike, a 24 gears TREK brand mountain-bike. We carry models 3900 and 4300 TREK, in different frame size. Helmet and a water bottle are supplied.
We provide also drinking water during the activities and participants can always purchase soft drinks or other at local shops.

Season
This trip is operated all year long. Best (coolest) season is from October to end of February. During raining season from June to September the nature is beautiful lush green. March and April are usually very hot and dry months.
